Actually the machine itself is still functioning perfectly but, as with many electrical appliances, it's not the main part that is the problem. I suppose it's my fault really... I put the jug and lid in the dishwasher, and when I emptied the dishwasher, the lid was nowhere in sight. I found it right at the bottom, melted and stuck to the heating element!
Now it looks like this...

...Of course, spare lids are not available; I could buy a whole new jug and lid for just under £13, or a WHOLE NEW machine for just under £18, but I'm just going to use it topless for the time being!

Now, that lid is some work of art! You should frame it...
Try looking around some of the secondhand shops (charity shops?) they often have things like that for pennies, that you could buy for the lid.
