Autumn Brocantes and a Fan

Yesterday being Sunday, there was a plethora of brocantes about.  I went to two.

In the Morning Janet and I went to an indoor one in Bellac - La Brocante des Brodeuses - which was just perfect for me.  Lots of things I would have liked to buy if I didn't already have more than the entire brocante stallholders, at my house!

But I did buy this little embroidered fan for 5€ (just over £4) ...

Hook fan - embroidery

Beautifully embroidered and with lovely appliqué, though not so hot on the sewing machine skills!

Just in case you haven't guessed, it's a little case for crochet hooks!

Hook fan - hooks

Great for travelling to and from a class, say, when you only need to take a smallish selection of hooks, as it folds up neatly.

I may put a little button and loop on, to keep it closed...

The second brocante was in Confolens, a nearby town in the opposite direction to Bellac.  I met a friend there and we had a pleasant amble through the stalls in the afternoon.  No pictures though, I'm afraid. The dark clouds were hovering and, on the way back to the car it absolutely poured down.

When I got back home though, the rain had finished and the sun was out to give me a lovely evening.  So - a good day, all in all.

Lovely idea - and very pretty. As you know I know both Confolens and Bellac so it was nice to read about them again.

That is so darling Penny and such a good idea and different to the usual oblong roll.

Thank you for sharing that with us.
