Building a Flat-Pack Bookcase

Assembling a Bookcase Flat Pack

This is not as easy as it sounds, you know. The picture says it needs 2 people, 3 square metres of space...

...and will take 2 hours. So - simple maths - 1 person - 4 hours - yes? NO!

1 person - and as long as it takes to interpret the pictures on the instruction leaflet.

To be fair, it was mostly easy, and an electrician friend explained one puzzling instruction, so I was left with only 12 pieces left over - 6 bits of plastic and six screws. The instructions showed them being used in some way on the back of the bookcase, but I had to ask the electrician (a different one) to help, and he showed me where the bits went.

So, the bookcase is complete;

...and tomorrow I'm going to assemble the other one (before I forget how it was done).

To be fair, yes, it would have been easier with 2 people, but then, so would most things...

The Electricians

Today, N.S.V.M.C. (the electricians) have come back to finish my house - after only 15 months!!!!!

Of course, I had to ring several times and then write to them, threatening to cancel the whole job, before they actually came back...

They are not bad people, but this seems to be the norm - too much work chasing too few artisans. Anyway, they started back today, and, hopefully, will finish by the weekend. Maybe then I can finally start sorting out the place and getting stuff organised.

I'll keep you posted...

Well it must be something like that... anyway, enough room to make the thing!
