Making Bread and Stripping Doors

So - some of each of the above!

I always do some work when Sandra is here painting - I think it's the company, rather than a guilty feeling :-)

So, in the morning I made bread. I used a Francine (French) flour with mixed seeds in and it seems OK, although I think the oven could have been a bit hotter...

...and in the afternoon I started to strip the middle room door, using the hot air stripper.

It's a bit of a cochon, this door, as it has lots of mouldings and little bits I can't get the scraper into. I need to go and buy one of those triangulat scrapers that can do small areas and one that is shaped to cope with a semi-circular moulding. Now the whole house smells like burnt toffee...

I also did the drawers in the kitchen table. I cleared out the junk useful bits and pieces in the left-hand drawer to make way for the bigger items of hand-operated kitchenalia (I think that's the right description) and, since most of these items were residing in a dusty cardboard box next to the shelves in the corner, had to do rather a lot of washing and drying things. This is something I normally try and avoid, leaving it to my valiant dishwasher (and yes, I do use non-phosphate dishwasher tablets) or simply dusting items before use. However, these things had been there for 18 months...

This is the previous contents of the drawer...

And this is the new contents (still not finished filling it yet).

Tomorrow the car goes in for a service, so I cannot, unfortunately, carry on with this delightful task. Saturday I am at a wedding, and Sunday....

...well, who knows...

Are triangulat scrapers hard to come by in the Limousin? ;-)
