Potholders

More news about that famous Potholder Swap - come on, I know you're desperate to hear more...

...I've completed the first two Potholders!!!!! And here they are...

Actually, I'm not sure if these will be any good, as they aren't quite the required size of 6".

This is my favourite square pattern - it's a slightly modified version of the Willow square from Jan Eaton's book of 200 crochet squares (or blocks as our American cousins call them). I just love it - the way you can use the colours.

What I've done for each square is to use 3 colours. I make 2 squares and crochet them together at the end to give a good thickness. I keep the colours for the centre and outside the same, but vary within the square by using the colours alternately round the centre. That is, if my colours are A, B and C, I would use A for the centre and final rounds, then B and C in order for the inside rounds. On the other side I use C and B for the inside rounds. All quite clear? If you're still confused here are some more photos:

Side 1 Side 2

Now to have a go with some other colours...

Reminds me of the bed covers you used to do in the seventies...

Bet you wish you still had yours! I remember it was lime and purple with black.

I love them. I adore the coasters I bought from you at the xmas fair. I love seeing them on the table, they are so bright and cheery. I must learn how to do them.

Love the idea of a bed cover!
