Well - it had to come, didn't it. Almost six months of Summer and now the winter is here. Today is not too cold outside but (as is common with these stone-built houses) it's colder inside!
I'm using up all my oddments of wood this winter - Giles cut up all the old beams etc. in the garden - so I hope I won't actually have to BUY any.
S'cuse me - the added bonus of a wood-burning stove is calling me - the whistling kettle is boiling for my cup of tea! Very English.
..Here you see the stove and kettle this morning before I lit the fire!
Bird Table
I'm still making hanging birds - hope to sell them at the Christmas Fair at La Petite Fontaine on November 28th! Thought I would show you my work area - AKA the kitchen table!
...seems I can't just make ONE of anything. Here they are, hanging on my airer.
...actually, I've already sold some! They are a bit fiddly to make but they look so funky!
Lucy from Attic 24 wrote the original pattern, but I changed it somewhat. You can download my version from my website, Chez Penny.
Brick-a-Bread
Just had to show you this picture - my latest bread-making attempt with the machine. This was with a mix from Hovis, which said it was suitable for hand OR machine. I leave you to judge...
Actually it doesn't taste that bad...

Thanks for the tip about the doiley! I love to sew, but am terrified of anything like maths which, for me, includes the world of knitting and crochet. I'm going to have a good look at the rest of your blog now. Best wishes at the craft fair - your stock looks great, and 'So British' as the French magazines put it!
Absolutely love your crochet birds! The colours are really nice. Thank you for following my blog. I stopped over at your other blog earlier and I can't wait until I have the time to browse through both-they look fab. Two of my favorite things - building reno and crochet!
Oh and 'hello' :-)
