However, I'm trying to get rid of all the stuff that's still packed up, bubble-wrapped, swathed in tissue, etc and this carpet has been rolled up and standing in the middle room for a long time. I thought I might as well use it...
...and, if you click on the picture to enlarge it, you might just notice that felted bag sat at the far end of the table...

When we moved here we had dark green fitted carpet in the kitchen! Previous lady was obviously either not a cook or much much cleaner and neater than I am!! We now have tiles as we had in France but I do have a mat which we brought back from France with us as it makes it a) quieter and b) warmer underfoot.
