In true Limousin fashion, the weather has done a complete about-turn today and it is raining 'des cordes' as the French say (Cats and Dogs to you and me). Actually the expression reminds me of my first MIL who used to say it was raining stair rods...
Anyhow, it's cold too - quite unlike yesterday!
So, as it's Sunday (nothing is open, no where to go etc) I thought I'd continue with the stripey crochet blanket I started yesterday evening. Inspired by Lucy at Attic 24, I bought some acrylic yarn in a variety of colours from Masons, and it arrived yesterday (well, half of it, anyway). Hopefully the rest will arrive on Monday, but at least I can start the blanket.
I ordered 26 balls - each a different colour, and intend to do a stripe (two rows) of every colour in the blanket - obviously I will need to repeat the stripes too! I really hope the rest DOES arrive tomorrow, as I'm on the last two colours now!
The yarn is really inexpensive - £1.25 a ball - and they didn't charge much postage out to France, which is wonderful. I love the blanket so far...
...and the yarn is dead easy to crochet with - I didn't find it 'squeaky' at all, and it feels warm and cosy, which, well, is perfect for a blanket!

Hi Kelly Jo. the yarn I used is what Lucy (Attic24) recommended - Stylecraft DK 'special'.
Lovely blanket, can't wait to see the rest!
I love Masons, they're only 5 minutes away from me and spending a few hours in one of the shops is one of my greatest pleasures!
We've had a beautiful weekend here mais les cordes sont arrives ce soir!
