Yes, the snow has finally hit here. When I woke up this morning, this was the view from my bedroom...
...and from the bathroom window you can see the back garden (well, the path to it at least)...
...you can just see my garden shed behind the trellis at the back (you can click on the picture to enlarge it).
Next door's enormous birch tree (which, thank goodness, has shed all its leaves now) looks like something from the magical world of Narnia...
I've just seen a lady with two bags of shopping, so the shops must be open as well.
How I love it here! People seem to be enjoying the snow rather than complaining about it (although it's all doom and gloom on the TV news). Maybe some are relieved if they can't get to work and there's certainly no school for the children today!
By contrast, last year, in France, I was cut off for 9 days, unable to get my car out of the hamlet and I felt very isolated.
Now I'm a three-minute walk from the town centre so I'm going out in a minute to see what's happening there. I'm waiting in this morning as my Henry vacuum cleaner was planned for delivery, but I've just rung them and they have put it back to tomorrow. Apparently all the roads will be clear then. So organised!
I really need to buy a small hand axe to chop up kindling and logs, so I'm hoping to get one at the ironmongers - although it's a bit specialist...

Isn't England wonderful?!!
We are pretty stuck here too. So glad you are happy back 'home'.
Have fun in the snow but stay warm and safe :-)

Sure looks like a winter wonderland!
