Herring Bones

The Purl Bee's blog yesterday was all about this mini herringbone scarf...


I thought I'd try this stitch, as I had never seen it before, and it looked really interesting, though I didn't fancy making the scarf itself - after all it's 5 feet long! ! ! !


So I found some aran yarn I had in the cupboard and started. This is the result so far...

It is slow going, so I'm definitely not going to make a scarf, but I do love the stitch.  It's firm enough to make something like a bag; firm enough for embroidery - but not hard and heavy...
