Flower Brooches

Continuing my current preoccupation with flowers (all those bunny names) I wanted to create an easy pattern for a crocheted flower yesterday.  I kept on until I made one that was both simple and versatile and came up with these flowers...

Flower brooches

..which are mounted here as brooches.  The flower could be used for decorating anything from a tea cosy to a hairband and the size will vary according to the yarn used.  It REALLY is easy and I will be publishing the pattern FREE on Ravelry very soon.  Just got to take some pictures as I make one, for the pattern...

Meanwhile, here are some close ups...

I used a single, aran-weight fancy yarn by Louisa Harding for these two...

Red_orange Louisa Harding

brown, cream, black LH

A mixture of cotton (from here) and Rowan Kidsilk Night to make these...

yellow cotton + kidsilk haze

Pink cotton + kidsilk haze

...a mixture of the Planet Penny cotton and a pure silk by Debbie Bliss, I think, to make this one...

Purple cotton + mauve silk

...and some Noro with angora in, fairly heavy weight - not sure of the name - to make this one...

Blue Noro flower brooch

I'll let you know when I publish the pattern!
