Moving Story - Part Two

So - there's a sequel to the moving story that I thought you ought to know.

About an hour after I posted my story, I got a call from a friend of a friend.  She has a holiday home near me and I met her through my friend who actually has a holiday home in my hamlet.  She had bought a couple of knitted rabbits and some sock wool from me earlier in the year, and I called at her house recently to tell her about a knitting group that was just starting not too far away.

Anyway, she called to tell me she had just picked up the latest ALDI brochure and thought I might be interested in a submersible pump they would have on sale on Saturday. I have a well, you see, and it is a bit of a chore lowering a bucket on a rope to get water for the garden and, although I bought a petrol-driven pump a couple of years ago, I had never managed to make it work successfully, while this lady and her husband had a little, cheap submersible that raised water easily from their well and to which they could attach a hosepipe for watering the garden. So ALDI have one on offer and I will go and try to buy one on Saturday.

(This is what a submersible pump looks like)

As we chatted on the phone, she told me her husband had fallen and hurt himself and she was having to do lots of things on her own, so I, of course, related my story about the chest of drawers.  Immediately she offered to come round and help me!  Lovely lady!

This she duly did, and now the COD (chest of drawers) is in the bedroom and ready to go! A job well done and a lovely afternoon chatting and drinking tea and coffee into the bargain!

Friends make life worthwhile...
