Drat, Drat and Double Drat...

Today I am suffering from a cold. I've had it for a week now and it has morphed from a sore throat into the current muzzy head and runny nose.

I hate having a cold. I loathe having a cold. I really, really want to do something very nasty to the person who passed this germ on to me.

I feel like this...

...I'm sure you'll remember how Merlin vanquished Mad Madam Mim by turning into a little germ...

My mother always said you should feed a cold and starve a fever, so I'm treating this germ with toast...

Toast

and spinning...

4th Dec 2012

(Yes, I know spinning isn't as good as toast, but it comes a close second as I find it very soothing.)

I've also done a few more rows on the Frost hat...

...and am almost up to the decreasing now.  I was set back a bit by the fact that my bamboo circulars broke (never buying cheap needles again) and I had to take back about 6 rows to pick up all the stitches.  (They are quite tiny on 2.75 needles). Then I was using DPNs which were a bit too short and the stitches kept falling off the ends...  Eventually I found a 2.75 circular I had bought in a set from Liddl about 5 years ago and never used.  Of course the flexible part was not very flexible and it has taken a long time to get the stitches to move along it relatively easily.

And did I mention that I hate having a cold?

Prompt retablissement! Hope it won't be long before the nasty germ has gone. Seems to be a lot of colds about just now. Your spinning is looking much better and I am glad that you are finding it soothing too.

If you submerge your stiff Lidl needle in a bowl of warm/hot water for a while, it may become more flexible.

Get well soon!
