Having a Ball

...of yarn, that is!

Here is the yarn I've spun since my last lesson, wound into a ball.

My second plying

Now I just have to find something (small) to make with it!  I want it to be something that I can keep for ever to remind me of when I first learnt to spin.

I'm thinking maybe a little tea cosy or a mug hug.

Very pretty. I think a mug hug would be perfect!

You mentioned in the previous post that the merino was being difficult. Did your teacher show you how to predraft your roving? It works wonders sometimes with problem fibers that might be sticky, compacted or disorganized.

There are some wonderful videos on YouTube; I've been spinning over 10 years and I can still learn something new there.

My teacher was not very focussed, and I think she thought I just needed to watch her spin and I would learn. Well, I did, but there's more to it than that, I think.
She did not give me any other instruction, YouTube has been good and comments for spinners have been a great help though.

Very clever! I don't blame you for wanting to keep your first yarn.
