T for Tuesday

Well, coffee actually as (horror of horrors) I don't actually drink tea.  Well - I drink Redbush tea and herbal tea but not that black stuff that comes from the Camellia Sinensis bush (or the green, or white, or any other colour that's just been invented...).

For my breakfast I have a glass of fruit juice and about a pint of coffee....

Cardigan blocking with coffee

Todays cuppa is sitting alongside the latest Sasha cardigan to go up in my ETSY shop - The Dolls Hat Shop - once it is all sewn up, the button bands picked up and knitted and some suitable buttons sewn on.  Buttons are the hardest part - the very tiny ones you can buy are usually for card-making purposes and often rather irregular in thickness and varying greatly in colour. The little pearl ones that I try to find are getting more and more rare - made, as they were, for baby garments where poppers would probably be used today.

If you have a reliable source, or any to sell yourself, - do let me know!

Do visit Elizabeth's blog and link your T for Tuesday post!

I love the big foam jigsaw piece you are using on the table and the knitting is a gorgeous colour! Those little pearl buttons are really expensive now! Annette

Funny I can't stand to drink coffee, I have tried but it's not for me although I am not giving up. Strange thing is I love the smell of brewed coffe and could sit in a coffee shop all day

No wonder you don't like Tea if you drink redbush!!! Shudder. Try some Cylone with a shot of Milk. Nice and Mellow. Mind you nothing wrong with a nice cup of coffee

Hello, I'm visiting from Elizabeth's. How fun to make doll clothes, so cute. I remember when my girls were little and had the American Girl dolls, we would dress them up over and over again. Miss those days.
I do not like coffee but like Bridget said, love the smell of it and could sit in a coffee shop all day too just to smell it. I like holding a warm cup in my hands too.
Happy Tuesday!

I know this probably sounds weird, since I host this weekly event, but I far prefer coffee to tea. I tell everyone the only time I drink tea is one hour each Tuesday (grin). Other than that, you'll find me drinking coffee, too.

Sorry I have no idea where to get buttons you can actually SEW in place. I'm all about gluing them in place. But I'm sure glad you joined in for T today.

Penny, just saw your comment on my blog. I haven't owned perfume since the 90s (grin). And I try to not shower before I work in the yard. Those mosquitoes love me no matter what I do!

Such beautiful work! and in a great color choice, too!
I love the little "tea mat" that your cup is sitting on. That is some nice crochet work.
Happy T to you!

i've been happy to see all the research lately saying how good coffee is for you. my older son gives me meaningful looks and tells me more coffee will stave off alzheimer's.

Great idea for a blocking board--wonder if it would work for an adult if you put some more pieces together?
Lovely color on the little sweater, too!

I couldn't resist clicking through to your Dolls Hat shop. So cute, and a great outlet for needlework, too!

(BTW, I'm not a tea drinker either—nice to know I'm not alone in that.)

Hello, and thank you for your tea time/coffee time visit to my blog!

I love dolls and all their accesories, and I've now begun following your blog.

I agree with you that good buttons are getting harder and harder to find. Sometimes I find good ones at Hancock Fabrics shops, but I don't know whether you have Hancock where you live. Good luck!

Well, I have my coffee in hand as I am not a real fan of tea either.
Clever idea to use those foam puzzle pieces!!

Love the color of the knit piece! And the foam puzzle is wonderful...bet it's useful too. Well I'm one Swede-Finn who doesn't like the taste of coffee. :) Much to my grandmother's dismay.

what a sweet little sweater...don't you hate it when stuff you really need is no longer available? I am sure you will come up with a solution. Enjoyed my visit...coffee and all! (love the doily under your mug!)

hi penny, i just saw you were looking for buttons i have bought lots from sweeting_hk on ebay they are based in china but the items come quick and theyre cheap, i think i ordered loads though so got free postage, cant quite remember as it was a while ago, just had a quick look at their shop they have lots of buttons but maybe the doll buttons section is the best, wouldnt go for the hundreds of micro buttons though shown in glass bowls as theyre a bit too plastic cheap and thin, if you cant find them maybe you could send me your ebay ID and i can send you a direct link ?....sarah xxxxx
