WOWW

Good Grief - is it Wednesday already?

Well, at least I've got something to show you.  I've been working on a cardigan for Molly, my granddaughter, but it's really hard to photograph...

Granny's Fav 1

It's actually a very pretty yarn - King Cole Galaxy - a rich aubergine in colour with sequins and very sparkly...

Very sparkly

The colour is a bit truer in the picture above. Do you have trouble getting the right colour in your photos?  It's the bane of my life, dealing largely with knitting and crochet, as I do.

The pattern is called Granny's Favourite by Georgie Hallam and it has been a bit of a pain to knit.  I find the written pattern very hard to follow and, failing to get a response from e-mailing the designer, I had to make assumptions and do my own thing on several occasions.

However, I think it will turn out all right in the end, and I think Molly will like it.  She chose the yarn in the first place, albeit a few years ago, cough, cough.

The cardigan is worked from the neck down, which I like very much and I have almost finished the body.  I'm hoping to get the sleeves done by the end of the week and post it off before she grows out of it!

I haven't got my usual day with the twins today as it's half term hols here but I'm off for a fun few hours with all 5 of my Grandies at Amy's later so am catching up with my fav blogs before I go. :-)
I love the yarn you've used Penny and am certain your little Granddaughter will love the finished cardigan [as long as it fits ;-)].

OOh it's pretty..bet it's soft too, and of course it has sparkly bits, it's the law for little girls! I don't knit, but I crochet a bit. With this sort of yarn, how can you see where you've been - I would struggle to put it down and pick it up knowing my place! Brilliant you!

Wow it looks so sparkly and beautiful although I couldn't see the detail I went off to have a look at the pattern, it must look fantastic IRL she is going to be one lucky little young lady. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week.

Happy WOYWW. Beautiful yarn. So sparkly. I still hold an ambition to knit some socks one day. I am rubbish at knitting and crochet, but determined to give them a go at least. Ali x #43

I love the pattern and the sparkly yarn. I have a really hard time with photographs capturing the colour correctly. It's either too bright or too dark.
