(turned out they only needed 48 and I'd already made 60!...but spares are always good)
...and I was idly reading through my blog list when I came across this...
I had earlier come across a bag of brightly-coloured cotton yarn that would be perfect for this project. However, I need another project like I need a hole in the head (the Egyptians loved making holes in their heads - they call it trepanning...)
Then, along came an email from a friend who was just contemplating making this same blanket! Kapow! So now I'm joining the CAL (albeit 9 weeks late).
I have decided, in my defence, to make a mini-blanket that will cover a doll's bed, so it shouldn't take me long to catch up with the CAL so far...
Up to now I have done 12 rows, though a slight hiccup in proceedings caused me to pull back 3 and re-do them with a looser tension (actually I just changed the number of chain between clusters) so I am a little behind...
...talking of behinds, mine IS a bit littler, as I have been slimming over the past few weeks. I could barely get into my jeans so something had to be done. I don't know how much weight or inches I have lost, but the jeans are OK now.
Sorry, minor slip into the wonderful world of weight loss with Penny there... back to the craft work immediately!
As my blanket is going to be
...and I might not even do all the rows in the CAL blanket. I'll just stop when the blanket looks about the right size. I have a dolls' bed (or two) that I can try it on...

It will be a very pretty mini-blanket. Then you need a mini doll.
Greetings from Elizabeth's T day...your crocheting is so colorful and pretty!
It is always nice when fun projects come your way
Enjoy

That crochet piece is AWESOME! I would make it into a table mat so I could gaze upon it continually until my heart was content. That is a lot of work that goes into even the smallest of pieces. I know because I knit and crochet, too ;-)
Happy T to you!!

The tiny blanket is going to be very pretty! Love the colors! Great job on reducing!! I need to get my rear in gear as well. I have been a big time slacker when it comes to exercise.
It's a lovely pattern, the colours you're using are so nice!
Welcome to T Stands For Tuesday. I was so glad you joined us. I had to laugh at the hiccup. But it looks like you have recovered remarkably. Beautiful crochet and great colors. And it looks like you're going to have lots left over for other projects, too.
Again, welcome, and happy T day.
Lovely crochet work. I have two 18" dolls here that need blankets if there is enough yarn...LOL My Grandies would love it!
Yes, I know that tight jean feeling and am also trying to do something about it, just started so I have nothing to brag about...yet. Good Luck with your endeavors.
Oh more Crochet :) If i see any more on more on my Tuesday rounds I shall be forced to get mine out! What a lovely Blanket that will be
Stopped by to wish you a Happy T Tuesday! I love to crochet, too, and that blanket is stunning! I'm not sure I would have the patience to crochet it full-size though!
I love the way you write... it's exactly how I think... jumping from one thought to the next and yes, there is always a link, tenuous sometimes, but a link nonetheless!
I would have done the dolly size crochet blanket too... it looks fabulous! Annette
You go girl! It'll be a pretty mini coverlet. Hugs
Thank you for sharing the link to the CAL. I crochet too. I won't be joining the CAL but I bookmarked the site for later.
Hi - I have had the worst issue with blogger and couldn't visit yesterday - but better late than never - love your start on the doll blanket - haven't crocheted for years!! Hope you have a great week see you next T for Tuesday... Mxx
Yeaah Penny, glad you got all the glasses cases finished and that you didn't have as many to make as you thought!!
I also like your crochet, it looks very pretty and colourful and I think one of your little dolls is going to be delighted to have it on her bed come the wintertime!
