July 8th

Yesterday the builders put in the remaining veluxes - at the back of the house, and the guttering. Tomorrow M. Ganteuil will come with his digger, but I'm not sure whether he's going to do the fosse septique first or take up the concrete apron at the back. The weather forecast is bad, so he may not be able to do anything at all!

Sophie came to visit today and we had a lovely time. We went to Mortemart first, where there was a little Sunday market and some lovely buildings, and then on to Montrol-Senard, a touristy village where they have restored the old schoolroom and lots of businesses to show how life was 100 years ago.

This is the gate of (I think) an old convent at Mortemart, and to the right is the church that belonged to the convent, which has its own leaning tower.

At Montrol-Senard we had a cup of coffee and this is me sitting outside the cafe! Thanks for the picture, Sophie!
