Today the workmen finished the upstairs! Hooray. Well, the plastering at least - now the electrician has to come in and then they will put in the bathroom fixtures. Already a small problem with the guest bathroom - not enough head height to have the planned shower, which had two lovely curved glass doors and a corner entrance. Sorry guests, you'll just have to slum it with a one-door shower. As far as I'm concerned any shower is good, hot water is a dreamed-of luxury. Not that all that will be ready until well into the New Year as far as I can see.

They started on the ceiling in my current bedroom and the insulation of the external walls in there. Should be toasty tonight! Just as well, since one of my trusty hot water bottles sprung a leak last night. This is what it looked like at lunchtime ...


After lunch they insulated the outside wall of the front of the house and tomorrow they will do the other wall and then start in the kitchen (nightmare)!

I'm off now to Pat and Edward's to have a shower and do some washing of clothes, so I'm clean and sweet-smelling when I go for my spinning lesson tomorrow afternoon. Watch this space for my spinning report after that...
