Doing up the Kitchen

I keep meaning to do something about decorating the kitchen, but never seem to manage to get started. Today I at least managed to get the paint off the glass on the cupboard windows before I went out to meet Sue for lunch. Before, they looked like this:

(You'll probably need to click on the photo to see the paint on the glass properly)...

...now they look like this:

At La Petite Fontaine (the lunch venue) Lyn had been painting her bedroom with some Dulux paint that is now being sold at Eco Entrepot for only 16.99 for 2.5 litres. She said they had some lovely shades in the Heritage range, so off I went to see. I came back with a green called Verditer, and decided to start on the wall by the front door, although it was a bit late in the afternoon. This is what it looks like now it is dry:

...although the colour is less jade than it looks in the picture. Tomorrow morning I'll finish the wall on that side, I hope, before I go off to the knitting group.

Whilst at the 'shed' (which is the local name for Eco Entrepot) I also bought some plastic-coated material to cover the table...

... and a little pine 'thingy' that hangs on the wall and holds your kitchen roll, aluminium foil and clingfilm. Of course it fell apart when I got it home (and it cost 8 euro 50 too!) so I had to repin and glue it back together. Looks like it will be useful, but now it's all back together, I realise it would have been easier to screw it on the wall first!

...so it's just standing on the cooker for the moment!

I love the cupboard, with the old hardware. Plus all the painting; which I'm sure you'll enjoy.
