Bracelets, Crochet and Marie Clarie

It seems to have been a long week, and I think this is because I have actually done so much! Not just the usual round of fun-filled mornings followed by fun-filled afternoons (both usually in the café drinking coffee).

Following my determination to sort out the clutter in the house - especially the boxes full of material and yarns that occupy an entire wall of shelves in my workroom - I have, of course, done nothing of the sort, but become side-tracked by designing and making 'stuff'. First of all the birds (Lucy's idea , but I made mine to my own pattern) and then, somehow, I got on to making bracelets. I have designed a pattern for a bracelet before (you can download it here), but this new pattern is for a slightly more sophisticated one - more of a wristband...

... and I do rather like it!

It is fairly quick to do - if a little fiddly- and the materials are not expensive. As with the other one, it is difficult to display well, either on the blog, or at a Craft Market. Gonna try though, at the Craft Market on the 28th November at La Petite Fontaine in Le Dorat.

Marie Claire

When I saw my granddaughter last week (they were staying in Paris) I took her this doll I bought at a brocante. Today I popped into the Phildar shop in Bellac to get some brown and red yarn to make some hanging bird robins and saw this...

...as you can see, the Marie Claire doll is almost identical to the one I bought, (no surprise, both are made by Corolle) so you can guess what I'll be making soon! The book has outfits for the doll made by crochet, knitting and sewing! I can't wait to get started...

...but I might just have to do a few more bracelets first, to perfect the pattern...
