That Fateful Day...

...has finally arrived! Yes - I've run out of felted sweaters!!! Shock horror! What am I to do? No charity shops here and even if I sacrificed something out of my wardrobe, it would almost certainly not be 100% wool! Looks like I'll have to stop making the hearts until the brocante season starts again and I can look for some wool sweaters. All I have is the scottish wool lengths I felted, and they didn't felt very much. Maybe I'll put them through the machine again....

...I do have an old dressing gown I cut up and, although it didn't felt when I washed it, I could back it with Vilene (memo to self to purchase shares in Vilene)... it looks like this...

... a mite boring for hearts, methinks.

So this was my last heart from the felted pink sweater that was just perfect for making hearts...

I used some silk ribbon (from here) to embroider the flower this time...

...and I rather like it, although it is a more expensive way of doing it.

That pink heart is lovely. Maybe it is time to think of other fabrics to use for your hearts at least until you can get back to UK for some charity shop finds? What about knitting or crocheting them, or using some other sort of fabric? Does the fabric have to be felted it could be left with a slightly frayed edge which you couldn't get with flet? Or use up scraps of embroidery like the hanky heart you showed us. I am sure your creative mind will come up with some other ideas.

Look forward tos eeing what you come up with.

Love that little heart. Felted sweaters are perfect for them - they seem to look cosy as well as pretty!

Have you tried Emmaus? Is there one in your area? You can find so many things there.

This is gorgeous, absolutely beautiful.
Now for this link.
If you pop back. I have written out instructions to get to the Carnations. (The long way round).
I've been using this link all last year, recently it's gone weird I don't know why.
But I think if you follow my instructions. You'll get it.
Hope so, let me know.
