The Little Blue Bag

I had a feeling, while I was knitting this bag, that it would felt to a smaller size than the colourscape one...

I washed it on 40º and it didn't felt at all (getting fed up with this - may not even try 40ºC again) so I re-washed it at 75º. Here it is...

...it is about half the size of the colourscape one! But very pretty!
Odd - isn't it? Same pattern, same temperature wash. The reason I thought it would be smaller (although the pre-felted bag was the same size) was that the fabric was much softer and looser.

I did the bobbles in with the knitting, but added a thin dark blue kid mohair yarn in for definition. I think it worked rather well.

Now I'm doing a green/beige one which I intend to embroider after felting, so no fiddly bobbles this time!

I like that! It all makes for interesting crafting not knowing how it will turn out doesn't it? Keep at it and maybe you'll get a middle sized on to make up the set!

I've never tried felting- I may do now though- the lucky-dip nature of it that you describe rather appeals to me! Love the bag xx

The blue bag is really pretty, it is more interesting don't you think when you just don't know how they will turn out! I like them :0)
