Table Top Sale

This is the last sale I'm going to do in this venue - I'm afraid there is just not enough publicity given to them and not enough people come along to buy.  I think the coffee and cakes are the main earner for them, with the tables as an ancillary 'draw'.

Today, apart from two stalls with cards, there were only 2 stallholders who were not selling 'car boot' style items.  Just me and a lady who sells Neals Yard stuff by party plan.  She didn't sell anything and I only sold about £20 worth.  I had lots of lovely comments (always nice) but the sales were only to about 4 people - and one of them was a £10 sale of crème egg bunnies!

It is an effort to display everything prettily, without it looking like a jumble sale and I decided not to put too much out - this is what it looked like...

I had the cakes again...

..and people loved them, children poked them, but nobody bought one.

I had the buttons...

...and lots of people looked, commented ...   and then said they too, had lots of buttons at home and what a good idea it was to put them on cards...

I had the teacosies...

...and, oh so many elderly ladies told me they were lovely and what a shame it was that no-one used teapots any more.

Ah, well...  Next weekend I'm going to the Original Vintage and Handmade Fair in Chipping Sodbury - and I'm not going to make any comments to the stallholders at all!

Your stall looked lovely, lots of gorgeous makes, just as you said, maybe not the right venue. I'm sure you will have a better day in Chipping Sodbury at the Vintage and Handmade Fair.

The selling part of crafting always gives me the jitters, I have sold quite a few things but just through friends and neighbours, I've yet to try having a stall somewhere.

Oh, you worked so hard and I know it is disappointing to not sell much. Such pretty things, I like the cupcakes.

Your stall looks wonderful, it's so sad the people who attended that event could't see it :(

Your table is so beautifully presented with all your fab makes. Shame it wasn't quite the venue for you.

Sounds like the Vintage and Handmade Fair should be just the ticket. Am sure there will be plenty of people there who would appreciate your skill.

Those teacosies are lovely and there are still people who use teapots and need cosies for them too.
