Four Weddings and a Funeral

Don't look for news of the weddings - I just thought that would make a snappy title - but I have been to a funeral today.  It was not as bad as I thought it might be, and I only cried a little. I kept my sunglasses on so no-one knew.

The funeral was of a lady I knew more than a bit, but not enough to call her a friend - I would say acquaintance but that's such a cold word.  She and I had coffee together from time to time and chats in my shop when I had it open.  She was a keen knitter and was very interested in the stitch markers I had made - not having seen or used any before.  I gave her a set and she was delighted.  When I saw her next she was keen to tell me she had just used them in a project she had just made.

Her name was Barbara.

I don't have a picture of her to show you. She was only 10 years older than I am; you never know what is round the corner, do you?

G'day Penny. I am sure she would have been pleased that you attended her funeral. That was a lovely thing to do Penny. Take care. Liz...
