A big event for Mézières - a brocante! The weather was good, although humid and showers were forecast. Still, there were plenty of stallholders and lots of visitors...
I took these photos when I first arrived and it was even busier later!
I was very lucky - I found another typewriter. Another Hermes Baby. It's in good condition - if a bit dirty - and even has the original guarantee (though not dated)...
They must have made this Baby for a lady as it has a really pretty moiré lining...
...and a faux leather carrying case...
The serial number (found behind the carriage, on the right and also printed on the guarantee) - 5976965 - means that the machine was made in 1950. Not quite as old as me, but close!
I've been seeing a lot about typewriters lately - maybe because I have become interested - and it's nice to know that, like hand-worked sewing machines, there is still a way to do things other than purely by hand or purely by electronic machines.

Do they still have all those sheep along the roadside in Messiers? Glad you got something you wanted is it a French keyboard?
I did love the brocantes, always something amazing to gaze at.
How many typewriters is that now??
I might look for a typewriter too. In honour of the old days. ;-)
G'day penny. Great photos. Is a Brocante the same as a market? How many typewriters do you have now.? Take care. Liz...
