Sheep Carousel

Yesterday was Workshop Day in the sleepy little hamlet of Les Granges...  for the Sheep Carousel, that is.  What - you've never heard of the Sheep Carousel?  No, it's not a new sort of milking parlour for ewes' milk, it's a little bit nearer home than that.  In the kitchen, to be precise.  Yes, I know you can use ewes' milk in the kitchen... oh, OK, I'll spill the beans.  Beans and milk?  No, I'm just rambling now.

Here is the Sheep Carousel...

...it's a tea cosy!

Well, the picture above is from the blog of the designer, Kate Davies, whose blog is called Needled.

This is my tea cosy so far...

story so far...18th Oct

...I am on the starting rib (called Corrugated Rib), which will look like this...

(it's the bit at the VERY BOTTOM).

Debra and I had decided to have a virtual workshop to knit this project many weeks ago, as part of a real workshop being run by Deborah Gray as part of Strathearn Wool Week. There was another virtual participant last night too, from the Isle of Lewis.

Deborah had said she didn't expect anyone to finish the teacosy yesterday, but I think I deserve a prize for the one who did the least!  Mostly what I did was talk, and my friend Debra forged on while I chatted nineteen to the dozen about every subject under the sun. You see, that's what happens to me when I have a captive audience...

Anyway - this is what my ribbing looks like at 9.30 this morning...

...so perhaps I should stop blogging and get on with some knitting!

I think the design of the tea cosy is lovely even if it didn't have sheep on it.

Enjoy!

Oh Penny that is such a lovely design. I just love the little sheep. Just a shame I'm not a tea drinker eh? :-)

It is the slowest growing tea-cosy ever! The virtual workshop was fun though - mind you, there was nothing virtual about the lovely wine we were drinking!!

This is so lovely! I love sheep. Must check that blog. But first it's legwarmers and then a bit of cross stitch. Have fun, can't wait to see the sheep carousel finished. So glad you are a fast knitter.
