Hops, Squirrels and Markets...

Another sunny day here today!  So nice to see the sun and feel the warmth.

Things in the garden are growing apace - such as the hops Giles transplanted from his allotment...

Hop, growing

...there are two plants - you can see the other at the back of the picture.  At this rate they will have turned the garden into Sleeping Beauty's castle thicket in another month or two!

When Fi and I went to the garden centre last weekend we bought some herbs which I put in the other day...

...and a really pretty rose which I haven't put in yet as I need to dig over the place where it's going and as I was about to, the rain started!  Today, when I went out to see what needed doing, I found the squirrel had been excavating...

...you'll need to see the large size of the picture if you really want to look at the hole he's dug!  Looking for nuts - or is nuts?  He dug holes in a pot of bulbs I'd planted the other week, and I put black pepper on the surface, which seems to have discouraged him so far...

Market Stall

I have a stall at the market at Herne Hill this Sunday (21st April), and I'm in the midst of sorting out what I should take and pricing everything in pounds instead of euro!  It's amazing how long all that takes... and how boring it is.

Good Job I'm the only one here at the moment...

Getting Ready 2

I have sorted out a load of things I DON'T want to sell, as well - some have been around for a while - and I'm not sure what to do with them.

I don't want to put them on the stall at a silly price as I think it will detract from the other items.  I thought of taking them to a Charity Shop but I'm not sure that's the right place for them.  Any suggestions?

Good luck with your stall. Is there a women's refuge you could donate some of your goods to.

Have a great weekend.

I think that's a good suggestion--donate them to a women's refuge. I've donated some items to a domestic abuse shelter for women who might have left all sorts of things behind in their homes and need the basics to start over again.

On another note, I really like your living room there with the wonderful large windows letting in so much light! I really like your coffee table too and that fuzzy rug!
