Woke up this morning to the sound of footsteps outside. It was the builder who had done the terrace and the septic tank. He put some more gravel on the terrace and left again! He may come back this afternoon to repair the well (which he broke by driving his JCB over it).


While he was here I asked about a box that was lying on the floor next to the stench pipe and, as I spoke, a baby rabbit popped it's head out of the plastic pipe leading to the septic tank! We were both a bit surprised! So now I have to find some way of getting (possibly a family of) rabbits out of their man-made burrow without them all running the other way and drowning in the tank. Really M Gantheuil should have blocked off the pipe when he left last time.
