Rain, Rain Go Away

...but don't come back another day, except for light drizzle and at night only...

We get a lot of rain in the Limousin, and the water table is always high, so it doesn't take much to fill the ditches and bring the rivers to bursting point.
It has rained in the night and the mornings for a few days and then been fine in the afternoon but today it has rained steadily all day. The wind is also strong and the roads are littered with twigs and small branches. We had a short power cut and I was crocheting by oil lamp, with the kettle on the woodburner, but the electricity is back on at the moment. Oh the joys of living out in the country!
