I Lost a Week

...and I really can't afford it at my age!

The reason is that I caught the 'flu.  Used to be called the Asian Flu, but I guess that's not PC now, so now it's the Swine Flu (from Asia)...  not that I care where it came from, but my nearest connection to Asia is that I am currently living opposite an Indian restaurant, so I think my flu was Hampshire Flu.

For a week I hung between life and death.. OK, I was in bed for two whole days and I really can't remember the last time I was ill enough to do that! Overall I was ill for a week and am only just beginning to feel I may come through and live.  For the last couple of days I felt well enough to get dressed, come downstairs, and even do some light crochet.  Here's what I made...

Blue Hydrangea

Pink and mauve

Turquoise

Christmas Rose

Copper Rose

...some crochet brooches!  They're destined for sale on my Folksy site.

I lost my appetite and mostly ate Kiwi fruit and the odd piece of toast, but today I had a 'proper' meal - even if it WAS a bought tin of soup (I'm still not up to making the fresh stuff).

Yummy soup

Maybe I'll have a Kiwi for dessert later...

I went through something similar not long ago . The crochet is beautiful...they are tags I think, or cards? I really like them as they add such a personal touch. Canned soup is divine when you are not up to cooking and looks like you picked a good one!
Glad you are back in the land of the living!

Glad you are on the mend, lovely crochet. I always fancy Heinz tomato soup when I'm ill - but I'm not keen on it when I'm well, must be a comfort thing.

Sorry to hear you have been so unwell and hope you will be 100% again soon. Tinned soup is great when you don't feel up to making anything isn't it?

Hope you are soon back on top form. Don't rush round trying to catch up - no need, Christmas will come and go and be just as lovely without too much hassle! Your little crochet brooches are lovely.
