Hot Day and a Hat

Another hot day - 38 degrees today, but better than yesterday with less humidity. Still - too hot to do anything much.  I even pulled the shutters to and left the windows open to let in the air but not the sun. Still, I hate sitting in the gloom!

I finished another Miranda hat today - and this one fits me!  Not that I'm going to keep it as this kind of hat doesn't suit me at all.  In fact I'm not sure what kind of hat DOES suit me - unless it's a balaclava:-) !

Anyway, I thought you might need a laugh, so here's a picture of me wearing it...

Mad me

I don't take a good picture and always look like I've just escaped from the home...

The hat itself is actually a very pretty colour...

Turquoise and Brown Miranda

This won't be a long post as my internet is playing up and uploading or downloading takes forever!  My phone, which is also through the Net, is not working at all.  Of course, the French provider (SFR) only gives support in French which makes it tricky as lots of the words are not in my vocabulary.  Thankfully my son, who lives in Paris, is fluent in French and can at least explain to them what is wrong, although they have to ring me to try to fix it.  The last time this happened it was a problem in the big green box at the side of the road and took 3 weeks to fix.  So maybe I'll see you soon, and maybe I won't...

I don't know what you mean. Your Miranda Hat looks wonderful on you and I'm so glad this one fits. It's so interesting how differently knitters knit and how different yarns affects the final outcome. You are amazing to knit three of these so far! Well done!

That must be so frustrating trying to get things fixed and not being able to speak fluent French......Hope it doesn't take too long.
38deg., wow, that is hot........don't envy you at all....no aircond?

I haven't knitted a beanie since my son was born...21 years ago and believe it or not, it was the very same criss cross pattern.
I'm sure there is a hat to suit every person and I did get a giggle from your description (just escaped from the home!!)Although I do think you're a little harsh on yourself.

Hello Penny

Lovely friendly posts.

Thanks for your reply to my comments. I smiled where you commented you made a whole string bag while at the doctors....I certainly take my crochet with me to the doctors too..

Great pattern on that hat and smashing variegated yarn.
33 degrees here at present but feels like more!

keep well

Amanda :-)
