Chauvigny Market

I've been to Chauvigny for the Saturday market on several occasions - it is a great morning out.  Today was no exception - except for the temperature!  It was 38°, which was tiring and made it less of a pleasurable experience, maybe.

I went with my friend Sue and we took it slowly, with a couple of coffee stops and that made it bearable.

There was a great hat stall...

I bought a new straw hat (my others are only fit for the garden)...

..and I thnk it quite suits me...

Sorry about the background - the only place with decent light was my en-suite!

I also bought some fantastic bread, some dried cranberries (sweetened so you just eat them like sweets) great fruit and veg -I'm really enjoying the big, flat, white-fleshed peaches that are around at the moment - and a fruit cake that I'm going to freeze in slices!

The hot weather continues, but is forecast to cool slowly over the next week.  The grass doesn't grow in this weather, but unfortunately the courgettes still do!

Yes, your hat does suit you.
Warm and muggy but the sun is hiding again today.

G'day Penny. Yes, the hat does suit you. It looks great. I love visiting markets, you can get some great things. Oh, that temperature sure is hot. It reminds me that our summer will be here before we know it and I am not looking forward to it. Penny what is a courgette? I am thinking that maybe it is weeds!!Take care. Liz...
