Winter Warmers

I've just finished the green mixture mittens.  They are lovely and warm...

Cashmere mix mittens

...due, no doubt, to the cashmere content of the yarn.  It really does pay to use great yarn.

Another Gretel is also complete - this time using the Rowan Felted Tweed that I pulled back from the unsuccessful Beret/Tam which turned out too floppy and insubstantial.

Grey Gretel

I used the yarn double, which made it quite thick.  But good for this pattern, I think.  The original pattern states worsted, which I believe is equivalent to UK aran weight...

Grey Gretel, detail

It blocked quite big, so will be a bit more slouchy, perhaps.

I'm now trying a mixture of the Felted Tweed and ICE Baby Alpaca.  So far, so good I think.
