Wicker Works for me...

Yes - it's finished and, no, what I thought was a mistake turned out to be just the pattern! (My perennial complaint with patterns is that you rarely get to see the item 'up close and personal' - just a pretty, arty picture of it on the model).
Anyway, less of my gripes - here's the finished cowl...

Wicker Cowl final

...and this close-up shows you what I would have liked to see on the pattern...

Wicker Cowl detail

All I had to go on was the chart...

...and from that, it looked as if I had got the pattern wrong.

But I hadn't, as I realised a few pattern repeats further on!

...and it was a free pattern so I can't really complain!

So here I am, wearing it...

Me wearing cowl2

Please look at the knitting - not me!

You may notice that I am wearing it with the pattern upside-down.  This is because the cast-off edge turned out wider than the cast-on edge due to the type of cast-off I used, and seemed to fit on my shoulders better.  If you don't compare it to the chart you would never know.

Penny, that's beautiful :)
Lavender seems to be my new favourite colour, combined with a lacy pattern - perfect !
I may have to have a go at this one myself.
BTW ...I used to live not far from you, in Salles-en-Toulon, nr. Chauvingy. Your posts bring back some wonderful memories.

I could do with one of those. I am feeling very chilly here today.
