Sand and Sea

Not the best time of year for the seaside you're thinking - not in the northern hemisphere. But the sand and sea I'm referring to is a pattern from Coastal Knits for a shawlette.

I have made this pattern twice so far.  In similar colours to the book picture...

Sand and sea

and in blue...

Blues 3

Both of these were in my handspun yarn, except for the borders.  If I spin 100g of fibre and ply it with something different I can just get a shawlette out of it, and then use another yarn for the edging.

It's a lovely pattern - doesn't take too much yarn or too much time and the finished article can be worn as a shawl or a scarf.

Lovely shawl Penny, I'm always feeling the cold around my shoulders lately, perhaps it's time I bit the bullet and knitted my first shawl. Love the look of Coastal Knits.
